Fondazione Furla

Established by Giovanna Furlanetto in Bologna in 2008 to promote the long-standing cultural relationship between Furla and contemporary art.

Via Bellaria 3/5

The Fondazione Furla is the brainchild of Giovanna Furlanetto, chairwoman of FURLA SpA, who established the Bologna-based organization in 2008 to promote the long-standing cultural relationship between Furla and contemporary art. It has increasingly cemented its reputation in supporting budding young artists throughout Italy while developing, exploring and exchanging new creative channels and innovative projects across the board.

Curator and art critic Chiara Bertola is in charge of curating Fondazione Furla, overseeing the foundation’s various cultural activities. The Fondazione’s main initiative is the Furla Art Award, one of the most prestigious and relevant prizes dedicated to promoting young Italian artists. Launched in 2000, the Furla Art Award is now celebrating its 10th anniversary edition.

The ever-evolving Furla Art Award has carved a high-profile niche in the art world, serving as the stepping stone for many artists and raising their visibility as they develop their art into different forms – from painting to photography, from digital art to multi-sensorial installations.
