The Swiss Institute in Rome (ISR) is a private foundation created by the Swiss Confederation in 1947 with the task of promoting scientific and artistic exchange between Switzerland and Italy.
Its main office is located in Villa Maraini in Rome, donated to the Confederation in 1946 and since its founding, the Swiss Institute in Rome is a destination for scholars and artists from Switzerland.
In 2005 Pro Helvetia commissioned ISR to promote culture in Italian territory, role that before was held by CCS – Centro culturale svizzero di Milano (1997-2005), and since then it has become, along with its headquarters in Milan, landmark of artistic and scientific Switzerland into Italy.
Opening hours during Salone del Mobile: 5-7 April 2017, 11am-8pm / Saturday 8 April 2-6pm
From 10 April to 6 May: Monday – Friday 10:30am-05:30pm / Saturday 2-6pm, free entrance
