Museum house opened in 1984 following the donation by Vittorio Cini’s daughter
Contacts & Details
In what was once Vittorio Cini‘s Venetian residence, today it is possible to admire masterpieces by artists such as Giotto, Guariento, Beato Angelico, Filippo Lippi, Botticelli, Piero di Cosimo, Jacopo Pontormo, Cosmè Tura, Ercole de’ Roberti, Ludovico Mazzolino and Dosso Dossi.
The gallery is unique on the Venice museum scene. The collection consists of Tuscan paintings from the 13th to 16th century, some very fine sculptures, a striking series of Renaissance enamelled copper objects made in Venice, a group of Gothic ivories and a Cozzi porcelain table service, which is laid out in the neo-Rococo oval room designed by Tomaso Buzzi in the 1950s and an extraordinary collection of Ferrarese Renaissance paintings, evidence of Cini’s predilection for the art of his birthplace.
