Choque Cultural (Culture Shock) is a contemporary art gallery based in São Paulo and founded in 2004. Since its opening, the gallery has become internationally known for its strong links with outsider and youth culture, as it exhibits mainly street and urban art, mixing young and recognized creative talents’ works. Its permanent collection is constantly enriched by the other initiatives of the gallery, such as residencies, exchanges, artistic collaborations and educative programs.
The events of Choque Cultural expand beyond the spaces of the gallery in the urban environment, both in institutional and more unconventional settings, reaffirming the bond with São Paulo underground culture.
