Contacts & Details
Fabian and Claude Walter opened their gallery in Basel in 1986. On one hand, the gallery has a strong program in contemporary photography with a special focus on young artists exploring the possibilities of the medium. On the other hand, it develops exhibitions in close collaboration with the estates of Swiss photographers from the 20th century like René Burri, Werner Bischof and Balthasar Burkhard. Parallel to the exhibitions in the main show room, the gallery presents a different exhibition format in what is called the Cabinet. In this context and in collaboration with independent curators the gallery shows selected positions in the expanded field of photography.
So far, the gallery has staged over 200 solo and group shows, published catalogues and has participated in international art fairs since 1989.
