Founded in 1975, the museum reopened in 2004, moving into a spacious industrial hall that has been rebuilt to provide bigger exhibition spaces. Berlinische Galerie is dedicated to modern art, architecture and photography with both a local and international focus, witht the collection includes Dada Berlin, the Neue Sachlichkeit (New Objectivity) and the Eastern European avant-garde.
