Jüdisches Museum

Opened in 2001, the building is designed by  Daniel Libeskind, who made it an architectural landmark in Berlin

Lindenstraße 9-14

The Jewish Museums Berlin is one of Europe’s leading museums, which dedicates its programme of  exhibitions and permanent collection, educational activities, and diverse program of events to reflection on Jewish history and culture as well as about migration and diversity in Germany. The permanent historical exhibition is complemented by temporary exhibitions, contemporary art installations, and special displays focused on a range of themes .

Even the design of the building recalls its focus: Libeskind has dubbed his design Between the Lines, a title that reflects the tensions of German-Jewish history. Rich in symbolism, the museum’s architecture makes this historical past palpable. In November 2012, the Academy of the Jewish Museum Berlin opened  across the street from the museum, built after architect Daniel Libeskind’s design. The new location unites, with a total surface of 6.000 square meters, the archives, library and education department under one roof, as well as the newly founded Academy Programs. S
