Art in General

Art in General is a nonprofit organization that assists artists with the production and presentation of new work. Founded in 1981 by artists Martin Weinstein and Teresa Liszka in the General Hardware building—hence the name “Art in General”.

145 Plymouth St, Brooklyn

Art in General assists artists with the presentation and production of their new work. It was founded in 1981 by two artists: Martin Weinstein and Teresa Liszka. During those 30 years of activity, Art in General has established itself as one of the city’s leading non profit organizations.

The organization has two gallery spaces: one located on the 6th floor of the building and the other one, called Project Space, on the street-level storefront.
