Fabbrica del Vapore

Fabbrica del Vapore is an industrial building from the beginning of the 20th century which was initially meant for the construction, maintenance and sale of railway and tram material. Seriously damaged following World War II bombing, some of the warehouses have been used for cultural events, fashion shows and as film sets more recently.

Nowdays inside Fabbrica del Vapore, a renewed plant that serves as a major creativity’s plaza, found their place some interesting contemporary entities: residencies for international artists and curators, the DOCVA (Documentation Center for Visual Arts), that collects and divulges documentation material about contemporary visual arts, run in collaboration with Viafarini. In the end id hosted there Careof, a non-profit organization for the promotion of contemporary artistic research since 1987.
