Tai Kwun is a new centre for heritage and art. Tai Kwun is situated in the Central Police Station compound, one of the most significant revitalisation projects in Hong Kong.
Contacts & Details
Tai Kwun brings to life heritage and art programmes in an authentically restored site which comprises 3 monuments – the former Central Police Station, the Central Magistracy and the Victoria Prison – forming the Central Police Station compound.
Tai Kwun showcases a mix of programmes and events focused on heritage, contemporary art and leisure. Located in the southwestern corner of Tai Kwun, a new art space designed by award-winning, international architectural practice Herzog & de Meuron, will dedicate to presenting contemporary art exhibitions and programmes as platforms for the continually expanding cultural discourse in Hong Kong. This will be operated by Old Bailey Galleries, the art arm of Tai Kwun on a not-for-profit basis, as an important part of the restored Central Police Station compound.
