The exhibition is the result of a residency of Santiago Ydañez, curated by Jesús Martínez Silvente. During his stay in Palermo, the artist set himself the goal of “to feed himself off of the living imagination of the city,” where the natural pre-cultural world coexists in harmony with the main theme of his pictorial universe – the religious dimension. Santiago Ydañez: Santo Animal is a site-specific project that interacts with the interior of the church of S. Eulalia and builds upon the intervention begun in the ’90s by M. Barcelò.
