7th International Kids’ Carnival

Giardini della Biennale

La Biennale di Venezia, chaired by Paolo Baratta, announces the 7th International Kids’ Carnival, titled Giro giro tondo around the world, which will take place from Saturday January 30th to SundayFebruary 7th in Venice, at the Giardini della Biennale (Central Pavilion, every day, 10 am – 6 pm), with free admission and activities.

At the 7th International Kids’ Carnival, inspired this year by Music, there will be 6 participating Countries (Austria, Bolivia, Germany, Poland, Romania, United States), as well as Conservatories and Music Schools, foreign institutions and national and local cultural organizations. 150 local Schools have already registered for the workshops.

“This year we return to the Giardini, to the Central Pavilion – declared President Baratta – an advisable move for a Carnival that falls early in the calendar year. We have dedicated it to nursery rhymes, lullabies, tongue-twisters, songs, and expressions that unite us in the memory of our childhoods and seem particularly conducive to the formation of a lively
and cheerful community of young people.”
“As always our Carnival, which lasts nine days – continued the President – will be the result of the contribution, on the one hand, of initiatives and events organized directly by the Biennale with the help and assistance of the educational staff, and on the other of the school groups who come by invitation to participate as actors and not as spectators”.

In the Music Special section conceived by the Director of the Music Sector Ivan Fedele, the Kids’ Carnival will feature important guests such as thePiccoli Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano orchestra (performance on the day of the inauguration January 30th) and the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole(performance on the closing day February 7th).
