Biennale Arte 2015 Closing Weekend

The Biennale Arte 2015 closes with a rich weekend of events that will take place from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd November, at the Central Pavilion in the Giardini, in the Arsenale and the Giardino delle Vergini.

The Conference ‘Archives and Exhibitions’
Taking place on Friday November 20th is the Fourth International Conference on the relationship between ‘Archives and Exhibition’, dedicated this year to Photography, organized by La Biennale di Venezia – ASAC as part of the 56th International Art Exhibition. The Biennale Library in the Central Pavilion (Giardini) will be the setting for a discussion between artists who make photography the tool of their trade and experts in copyright law.  
Admission to the conference is free, and participants are entitled to a coupon for the purchase of a ticket to the Biennale Arte 2015 at the discount price of € 16.

The Performances at the Arena and the Arsenale
Friday 20th, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of November, the Biennale Arte will be like an ongoing live performance, animated by an intense calendar of Performances in the Arena (Central Pavilion) and in the Arsenale. The Arena will host the closing live reading of Das Kapital Oratorio and will present new performances by Theaster Gates & The Black Monks from Mississippi, and by Sonia Boyce with Exquisite Cacophony. And returning with their performances will be Olaf Nicolai, Maja Bajevic, Jason Moran, Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil  Joreige, Ivana Muller, Charles Gaines, Jeremy Deller and Matthew Abonnenc. At the Arsenale, visitors will be greeted in the Corderie by the chorus of eight performers of Allora & Calzadilla and by the performance of Ricardo Brey, Dora Garcia at the Artiglierie, Tania Bruguera in the Sale d’Armi, and finally Joachim Schoenfeldt in the Giardino delle Vergini (for visitors to the Exhibition).

The closing Panel discussion at the Arena
Sunday November 22nd at 2 pm, gran finale in the Arena of the Central Pavilion with the President of La Biennale Paolo Baratta and the curator Okwui Enwezor, in a conversation about All the World’s Futures, with the curators of the some of the Participating Countries: the Republic of Armenia, Germany, Greece, Poland and Serbia (for visitors to the Exhibition).
