Franco Albini Foundation was conceived 30 years after the death of the homonymous architect or artisan (as he preferred to call himself), a figure that many have investigated, but who has yet to be understood in his totality.
Following the recognition of the value Albini’s works by the Italian government as national historical heritage, an institution was created in order to promote the current relevance of Albini’s oeuvre, as well as deepen the infinite investigative possibilities offered by the documents of his archive.
The Foundation is located in Milan, inside Franco Albini and Franca Helg’s original studio in Via Telesio 13, which houses, beyond numerous collections of the most renowned magazines of the time, original drawings as well as documentation of projects from 1935.
Franco Albini Foundation was given birth as a cultural entity, open to dialogue, debate, research and to active divulgation in the world of Contemporary Architecture; its Scientific Committee includes some of the most prestigious names of Culture.
Franco Albini Foundation realizes Researches, Publications, Exhibitions, Conferences, Laboratories for Children, Workshops, Team Buildings for Companies, Events and Multimedia projects, Theater performances and moreover it supplies Certificates of Authenticity for existing Design pieces.
Since 2013 the Foundation also opened its doors to guided visits of the Architect’s original office to allow the visitors to get acquainted with the creative process and strict method of the great Master; one of the most representative characters of Italian and International Design and Architecture.
