The Swiss Design Awards are Switzerland’s leading national design competition organized annually by the FOC (Federal Office of Culture) since 1918.
Coinciding with Art Basel, the annual Swiss Design Awards exhibition provides a unique overview and insight into contemporary Swiss design practice: products and objects, fashion and textile design, graphic design, photography, scenography and mediation (curating and criticism). For this year’s edition of the awards, the Federal Design Commission selected 53 projects for the exhibition from a total of 272 submissions by both Swiss-born designers and designers based in Switzerland. 18 outstanding positions in contemporary design practice have been selected to win the Swiss Design Awards and will be annouced on the occasion of the grand opening on Monday, 15 June.
The award winners will be honoured on the evening of 16 June together with the winners of the Swiss Grand Award for Design 2015 – announced in April – Luc Chessex, Lora Lamm and Team’77.
