The Architecture of Social Dimension

Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Limmatstrasse 270, 8005 Zürich, Switzerland

The forum explores the physical limitations of contemporary architecture and argues for a shift in emphasis from form-driven to purpose-oriented social design. The question is how architecture can function as a process in which the outcome is realized with the active participation of users and inhabitants.

Urban-Think Tank is an interdisciplinary design practice dedicated to high-level research and design on a variety of subjects concerned with contemporary architecture and urbanism. In 1998, Alfredo Brillembourg and Hubert Klumpner founded U-TT in Caracas, VZ. Currently they direct the Urban-Think Tank Chair at ETH Zurich within the Department of Architecture.
