“Wednesdays at the Warehouse” is a curated program of activities and events designed to create new opportunities for community participation in the arts and culture, including workshops, film screenings, performances and panel discussions, all held on Wednesdays at Warehouse421.
The project aims to support emerging artists and cultural practitioners and contribute to the enrichment of the local arts scene in the United Arab Emirates.
The latest program features a mix of engaging talks and hands-on workshops inspired by the exhibitions on show at Warehouse421.
All Wednesdays at the Warehouse events are free and open to the public, but is recommended to register in advance to avoid disappointment.
The Talks includes a behind-the-scenes look at “Emirati Adornment: Tangible and Intangible” (the third Lest We Forget exhibition) and “Bayn: the In-Between”, featuring some of the creative minds behind these stunning exhibitions.
The Workshops invites participants to learn about and experiment with different forms of tangible and intangible adornment, including patterned textiles, the use of Henna, and the power of perfumes to evoke memories.
The Film Screenings features contemporary Arab Cinema showcasing the works of talented directors from across the Middle East and North Africa in partnership with Cinema Akil.
