Anna Maria Maiolino: Making Love Revolutionary

Whitechapel Gallery

25 Sep 201912 Jan 2020

The exhibition at Whitechapel Gallery spans the multi-dimensional fifty-year career of Brazil-based artist Anna Maria Maiolino. The pieces on view range from the beginning of her career back in the 1960s up to the present, including clay sculptures, films, performances, drawings, photography and installations. Maiolino resorts to figures of speech and language and to the representation of the body, to address political, military and cultural issues in the recent history of Brazil.
