The exhibition presents works by Angelika Platen‘s extensive collection of photographies, bringing together around 180 works from 1917 to 2000. The pictures showed encompasses both traditional and experimental aspects of photographic portrait, featuring very famous photographers like Berenice Abbott, Brassaï, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Gisèle Freund, Heinz Hajek-Halke or Arnold Newman alongside lesser-known authors. The selection includes the  portraits taken to iconic artistic personalities such as Georg Baselitz, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Pablo Picasso and more.

The exhibition aims to investigate the artist as a visual phenomenon, composed of a particular set of ideas and motifs, shown in the photographic portraits and is divided into three sections that highlight different aspects of the artistic personality.
