The retrospective dedicated to the Swiss artist and photographer Balthasar Burkhard recollects his entire career from the early works on. The pictures exhibited document different phases of his research: the documentary one during the 60s, the views of the urban and natural landscapes. the pictures which portrayed the art world and protagonists or the ones of bodies printed in big dimensions to compare them to architectonical elements.
In his images, Burkhard tries to communicate his innovative point of view on photography, claiming its creative role against the crisis of traditional photographic techniques established by the affirmation of installation and performative art practices.
