Carsten Nicolai: Parallax Symmetry

The retrospective of Carsten Nicolai gathers 40 works offering an overview of the artist’s multifaceted thirty-year long career. Nicolai has been working as a musician under the pseudonym Alva Noto and active in music, visual art and natural science since the early 1990s.

The title, “Parallax Symmetry“, of the exhibition references to the meaning of the old Greek parállaxis, “change, moving back and forth”, alluding to the physical phenomenon of parallax.
