Christian del Castillo

1 Mes 1 Artista (1M1A) is a monthly program which exposes one artist each month. It emphasizes in experimental projects without being imposed by the art market’s decisions. The challenge is to invite new publics, reveal new artists and give them recognition. Besides, this art space has a design store. During Zona Maco, the resident artist will be Christian del Castillo.

Christian del Castillo works independently as an architect, as well as an artist. He creates links between architecture and art. He intervenes on the architecure of the space working in-situ.

The show is an exploratory exercise on pyramidal and triangular geometry that inquires into the formal, structural and symbolic characteristics of this element from a contemporary perspective. Beginning on the ground and finishing in the sky, it is a sort of metaphysical vertical axis confronted with this geometry in a space containment, which creates a historical link with the context of the Historic Center of Mexico City.
