Daniel Chimowitz: Walking Canvases

Jewish Museum of Florida – FIU, 301 Washington Avenue

Walking Canvases is the first museum exhibition of the Jewish artist and fashion designer Daniel Chimowitz. He creates the so-called “walking canvases”, colourful painting interventions on hand-sewn and upcycled clothing, which combine graffiti art and different fashion tendencies, such as punk DIY fashion of London, studs from Spain and simplistic triangles and circles of the Tlingit. Chimowitz has exhibited internationally, exhibiting his designs in Paris, London, Beijing, New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Miami and worked with famed designer Patricia Field.
