David Cury: Life is the wrong sum of truths

Paço Imperial, Praça XV de Novembro, 48 Centro

Conceptually, it is a negative civic landscape.

Fifteen sentences about the social history and Brazilian politics are isolated in cement and iron slabs, amid residual debris.

Either metaphorical, philosophical or lyrical sense, each of which aspires to aphorism condition on three of the forms of violence incorporated into our daily lives: social (Kill all because neither God nor the state recognize their) political(The Yankee Dorothy Stang did not come home) and moral (Here the evil of at least imposture dispenses).

However, this is about not political art, but art of politics: the text wants to be image and matter. This hybrid of sensitive and mental experience that should challenge any one-dimensional perception of the facts – leading them to continuous review and paradox, uncertainty and crisis.

The relationship between the installation and the public, such “slogans” and its sculptural behavior should involve reflective aridity monuments.
