Diogo Pimentāo: Extended Meaning

The solo exhibition Extended Meaning features the works by the artist Diogo Pimentāo, which express his fascination with materiality, particularly, that of paper, and intention of mixing drawing and sculpture.

The artist’s focus is not only on the pieces he produces, but also on the process of creation, considered itself part of the work. The show features his recent pieces from the series “Untold (synthesis)”, namely large paper constructions, which bear on their surfaces scratches and marks as traces of the actions that the artist performed in his studio to create them. Also the installation “… (program)” is exhibited, consisting of hand molded small sculptural objects made from concrete and graphite carved with letters and symbols found from children’s school papers, inspired by an old Nordic tradition.
