Discovering Malaysia Contemporary Art Exhibition 2016 in Shanghai

The Gallery presents its very first Malaysia Contemporary art exhibition that will characterize the scale and the scope on Malaysia art. This will mark a milestone in the gallery’s portfolio; Discovering Malaysia Contemporary Art Exhibition 2016 in Shanghai is presented by Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) in Collaboration with The Gallery.

Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) as Malaysia’s trade promotion with its strong international linkages helps Malaysian artists explore the global market and highlight the signature appeal of their art works globally. As for the past few year Asian art market in general has grown a lot especially in China, therefore MATRADE has spotted this opportunity to collaborate with The Gallery to introduce Malaysian Art Talents in to China Market.

Guided by a common vision to promote Malaysian talents, the show presents 14 artists ranging from masters to young and talented showing works in various medium. We will showcase the top famous Malaysian Artist like Prof. Awang Damit and Dato Tajuddin Ismail, emerging artist such as, Phuan Thai Meng, Stephen Menon and Samsudin Wahab, of cos exciting young talents like Nik Nohd Shazmie, Louise Low, Tan Kai Shuean & etc.

With the Theme of “Discovering” this show will give a glimpse on the story of how Malaysia Contemporary Art is heavily influenced by the diverse culture of their surroundings, celebrating the multi-racial mosaic of Malaysia.
