Frida Kahlo: Making Her Self Up

Victoria and Albert Museum, Cromwell Rd, London, SW7 2RL, UK

Frida Kahlo: Making Her Self Up displays, for the first time outside Mexico, a series of objects and personal belongings of Frida Kahlo, one of the most recognised and significant artists and women of the 20th century. More than 200 objects from the Blue House, where she was born, are exhibited, thanks to the collaboration between Victoria and Albert Museum and Museo Frida Kahlo. Her personal items such as jewelry, cosmetics, clothes, medicines and many more are on show alongside self-portraits and photographs.

The exhibition reconstructs the Blue House, where most of these objects were recovered in 2004, retracing her life, from her childhood until the marriage with Diego Rivera.
