Gen Atem & Miriam Bossard: Meditated Vandalism

Artstübli, Steinentorberg 28, 4051 Basel, Svizzera

Artstübli presents “Meditated Vandalism”, an exhibition by Gen Atem and Miriam Bossard. The term “Meditated Vandalism”, invented by Gen Atem after spending seven years living as a monk, perfectly describes the attitude of this artist: a free-range animal who sprays graffiti on subway cars and finds in meditation an inexhaustible source of inspiration. This contrast between calm and wildness is present also in Atem’s works, charged by antithesis inviting the viewer to actively participate in questioning images and identities.
