Green Art Gallery presents “Write Injuries On Sand And Kindness In Marble”, a solo exhibition displaying a site-specific work by the artist Hera Buyuktasçıyan. Dealing with concepts of time and memory, the artist examines the relationship between labour and productivity, using the gallery as a marble factory in which the presence of water gives physicality to the invisible, in a process that Buyuktasçıyan defines as aquamorphology. Water, marble, mosaic fragments serve as metaphors for fragments of time, in which memory itself is made of up thousands of individual shards.
Born in Istanbul in 1984, and graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Painting department in 2006, Hera Buyuktasçıyan defines her work by an architectural and anthropological approach, often favouring site-specific installations inspired by the memories found within a place.
