Herbert Ferber: Space in Tension

Lowe Art Museum, 1301 Stanford Drive

Born in New York in 1906, Herbert Ferber was a sculptor and painter, as well as a dentist. His sculptures are open, hollow forms in soldered and welded metal, that in spite of their abstract form, often suggest forces in conflict through their titles: ‘Labors of Hercules’ for example. “Herbert Ferber: Space in Tension” showcases his direct-metal constructions and Minimalist paintings, including works in a range of media never exhibited before.
