Los Angeles-based artist Jennifer Guidi (b. 1973, Redondo Beach, USA) makes paintings notable for their sculptural presence and luminosity. Her characteristic use of sand as a medium, the swirling mandala-like compositions, and the richness of her palette increasingly link her mode of abstraction to sensory experiences of the natural world. This is Guidi’s first ever solo exhibition in Asia, showcasing 14 new sand paintings made in 2017-18. Six of the paintings are triangular, which is the first time Guidi has made shaped-paintings.
