José Guerrero: Meetings of Blues

This is the first solo show by the artist with the gallery. On show, a selection of six large canvases the artist made in New York in the 1970s and have not been displayed in this country for a number of years. These paintings reflect the themes and artistic concept of abstract expressionism that made him famous during the 1950s when he was part of the New York School.

José Guerrero (Granada, 1914 – Barcelona, 1991) was a Spanish artist, known for his abstract expressionist paintings, who spent much of his working life in US.
