Laura Gorski: Rest

Rest is an installation composed of three interconnected rooms that propose a setting of submersion created from a group of stones, branches and a boat and areas painted in black from the floor to a determined height in each room. The project proposes a gradual immersion and invites the spectator to enter a quiet setting, only composed by the structures that the landscape sustains. This work intends to give continuity to the artist’s research that involves the investigation of structures that are essential to landscape, to the creation of quite spaces and the search for the extension of time through drawing. The atmosphere created in Rest point towards a hidden reality of things that is under the level of the visible – the work finds itself on the limit between revealing and hiding these elements. It flirts with the idea of containing the uncontainable and unveiling the invisible.
