Mary Sibande: I Came Apart at the Seams

The first solo exhibition of Mary Sibande in the UK, “I Came Apart at the Seams“, gathering recent and celebrated works of the artist, presents a series of photographic and sculptural narratives exploring the transformative journey of Sibande’s avatar, Sophie, which was modelled on Sibande herself, and transgresses from a domestic housemaid into myriad empowered characters.
