Michael Dean at Mendes Wood DM

For his new solo show at Mendes Wood DM, British artist Michael Dean (b. 1977, Newcastle) presents new sculptural works where he explores the organic and flow aspects of verbal and written language.

Written language and the transposition of writing to a physical state with typography is in the centre of Michael Dean’s research, who’s also interested in the in the political aspects of language, such as authorship. He has presented solo shows at Arnolfini, Bristol; Cubitt, London; The Henry Moore Institute, Leeds; Supportico Lopez, Berlin; Herald St. London, London; Nomas Foundation, Rome; and Kunstverein Freiburg.
