Müller Lukas: Charge

Coalmine presents Lukas Müller “Charge”.

In recent years Müller has collected a huge archive of pictorial objects on his daily aisles through Düsseldorf. Promotional slips, business cards, letters, passport photos, sticky notes with doodles, expired credit cards, pamphlets with everything except cash can be found among the worn and weathered things pictured in Müller’s work. Enlarged and printed on fabric, they recall the iconography of poster walls within painterly playful compositions.

For his exhibition in the Coalmine, the artist will spend some time in Winterthur, where he will be able to trace various objects. It is precisely the finds, which point to the ortstypical industrial age, which can easily be found in Winterthur in an ensemble of picture and object in the exhibition space.

This results in the reproduction of human existences as well as in urban small portraits.
