For NADA New York 2016, Spinello Projects will deliver a solo presentation from multi-sensory New York-based artist Naama Tsabar with new work from an ongoing series known as Work On Felt.
Evolving from her exhibition at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Tsabar’s Work On Felt sculptures move from the floor to the wall, in four new variations. These works nod to Minimalist traditions, while inviting a tactile approach from the viewer, as the string running through it may be plucked and played by the participant. The pitch of the string can be altered by pressing one’s body against the object, consequently introducing an erotic dimension to these works. Tsabar’s purposeful extension or shortening the curvatures of the work creates an intimate experience between the object and its catalyst.
