Objects of Beauty. Collective Exhibition

Pan American Art Projects, 274 NE 67th Street, Little River

The exhibition explores artworks that are a formal or conceptual departure from traditional media, engaging the spectators in dialogues that question traditional concepts of material, utility and space.

The project room is back to its original intentions: to offer a space for young artists to test the waters. In this occasion we are presenting two artists: Fernanda Torcida and Gabrielle Baez. Torcida is presenting a suite of photographs, which despite looking like portraits are far from the usual posed images. She is interested in capturing human nature at its truest, and her photographs portray people from different walks of life in spontaneous postures and situations. Baez is presenting a couple of her trademark drawings. Her delicate renderings are a mixture of whimsical memories in which dreamlike elements populate the entire surface, making it difficult to separate elements taken from reality and those which are the fruit of her imagination.
