Photissima 2015: This is Contemporary Art…

Photissima will be conquering three locations with motto of ”This is Contemporary Art” Venice, Milan and Turin in 2015.

Photissima triples its position, under the usual direction of Telemaco Rendine and with a collective artistic committee; the director of the Colombian magazine Artery Nelly Peñaranda, Maria Flora Giubileo, director of Gallery of Modern Art Genova Nervi, Roberto Rosso, professor of photography at Brera Academy of Fine Arts and the journalist/critic Fortunato D’Amico.

It retains its setting as Art Fair & Festival in each location: the first four opening days will be dedicated to mostly trading with the presence of galleries selected by the committee; after that the projects chosen by each gallery will remain on display for all the opening period. In Venice then, since Photissima will remain open for almost six months, there will be a rearrangement by galleries in order to offer an even more extensive and exhaustive insight into the contemporary photography.

The innovation and strength of Photissima have always been its blending of an art fair and a festival; in fact, under the same roof they beat as one:

– The Festival, organized with various number of exhibitions defines its identity with photographic offers, both institutional and independent, reaffirming the will of a contamination between languages and themes.

-The section of Art Fair, dedicated to national and international galleries, has seen the involvement and participation of leading industry experts to give a complete view of artistic photography, from the essential market point of view, with the work of research, documentation, selection of artists and works carried out daily by the gallery owners who drive and form the taste and choices of photography enthusiasts.
