Pierre Huyghe: Untitled (Human Mask)

Guggenheim Bilbao

30 Mar 201716 Jul 2017

Born in Paris, France, 1962 and having studied at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, the artist currently lives and works in Santiago, Chile. Employing folly, leisure, adventure, and celebration in creating art, Huyghe’s films, installations, and public events range from a small-town parade to a puppet theater, from a model amusement park to an expedition to Antarctica.

In this exhibition Pierre explores the boundary between fiction and reality. “(Untitled) Human Mask” (2014), takes viewers to a Japanese landscape scarred by the recent tsunami and the Fukushima nuclear disaster.
