Piper Owen & Reynaud-Dewar Lili on How to Talk Dirty and Influence People

SALTS, Hauptstrasse 12, 4127 Birsfelden, Switzerland

For their first institutional collaboration in Switzerland artists Owen Piper and Lili Reynaud Dewar join forces to devise a new site-specific, immersive project at SALTS. Piper and Reynaud Dewar met at the Glasgow School of Art while studying their MFA, where they became friends and collaborated between 2001-2003. After their studies, both artists went to develop their individual practice and rarely had the occasion to work together. A profuse painter, Piper usually produces quick, emotive, gestural paintings on a daily baisis. He seeks inspiration from his environment and the daily news. Working with photographs, texts and performances, Renaud Dewar is interested in mashing up aspects extracted from a wide range of cultural references, often creating a space for the viewer to rethink interpretation. For their common exhibition at SALTS, the two artists propose to adopt a retrospective approach, showing works produced over the last ten years.
