Twin Gallery presents “Polvo En Nuestros Ojos [Dust In Our Eyes]”, a group exhibition, curated by Fortunata Calabrò, featuring works by the artists Regina José Galindo, Bashar Alhroub, Ali Cherri and Luz María Sánchez. The show establishes a dialogue between the Arab world and Latin America through the investigation of the contemporary art scene and practices pertaining to these two regions, revealing the way in which each of them builds its own social imaginary. In this respect, “Dust In Our Eyes” examines the way in which art reacts to current events, taking as starting point the local historical and geographical perspective of these territories, to introduce a global reflection regarding not only the aesthetic context, but also covering political and sociological matters. Through their artworks, the artists aim to instill in the viewer the need of a “social responsibility”, developing innovative strategies to encourage an open dialogue made by the connection between the sense of consciousness and its representations.
