Routinised Absurdity

KINDL – Centre for Contemporary Art

30 Sep 201803 Feb 2019

The group exhibition Routinised Absurdity features works by ten international contemporary photographers, whose practices involve the investigation of daily routines and surprising breaks in them. The pictures exhibited generally present familiar settings, in which some kind of abrupt or unexpected situation occurs, discarding the viewers’ certainties. The selected photographers try to represent the absurdity concerning mechanised behaviours, but also to question the state of a performance-oriented society in which efficient action is the main paradigm.

The exhibition is curated by CUCO – curatorial concepts berlin e.V. (Hanna Dölle, Katherina Perlongo, and Annika Turkowski).
