Sara Enrico: à terre, en l’air
Being inspired by the choreographic language, the artist reinterprets TILE like a space marked by lines on which compose a score. The title of the solo show consists of two parts, “à terre” referring to the steps that are executed on the ground, while “en l’air” indicates those steps that are performed detaching yourself from the floor.
The artist has installed her works creating an interaction among them as well as with its audience. Following movements of addition and subtraction, the artist translates and transforms her works, between the manual and digital, allowing the audience new perceptions and interpretations of both material and conceptual, resulting in ever new ideas.
The artist uses tubular, simplified forms and replica of objects from different environments featuring anthropomorphic traits. These embody moment of standstill, demanding the viewer to closely observe and engage in a new perspective.
The surfaces of Enrico’s artworks create an arena for act and narration to initiate. Materials, shapes, positions and gestures are combined with linguistic elements, that extend the object from a mere visual existence to a tactile and cultural one. Thereby Enrico is able to generate an environment of observing and processing, by which the viewer is engaged into an intimate dialogue with the artist and her work.
The artist and the curators thank Vittorio Micucci for supporting the exhibition.
