[SAUDADE]

[SAUDADE] is a site-specific, experiential installation that blurs the line between stagecraft and visual art/architecture. 3PQ artists Sinisa Kukec and Stephan Tugrul attempt to induce the viewer’s five-sense reality into an alternate proxy, an “initiation” of sorts based on “the longing for something that doesn’t exist.”

[SAUDADE] explores the “magical” nature of the “irrational” world and the artists’ interest in crowd pleasure and how it often reveals another side of human behavior. Is it possible to reclaim the past? What is the “love” that remains after someone is gone? If you could go back to a sacred place in time, would you want to? What would you do when you got there? Would you change your actions, could you make it better? 3PQ suspends the need for meaning and entertains the “possibilities” of interpretation. What we “see” isn’t always what we get when confronting the past, present, and future.
