Sean Scully

First major exhibition of the Irish artist in Brazil, the show, curated by Jacopo Crivelli Visconti, presents 46 works produced between 1947 and 2014.

One of the most renowned abstract painters from the late 20th century, Scully‘s (b. 1945) production comprises geometric forms and a varied palette that goes from black, brown and red to vibrant colours such as blue pink and canary yellow. Scully’s works have rarely been seen in Brazil: before this show, he only participated in the Bienal de São Paulo and in an exhibition at Centro de Arte Hélio Oiticica (Rio de Janeiro), in 2002.
