Sergio Lucena: Like the Wind…

Galeria Mezanino presents solo exhibition by Brazilian painter Sergio Lucena (João Pessoa, PB, 1963): “Como o vento…” (“Like the Wind…“) . The exhibition includes his new abstract artwork, produced between 2015 and 2016. The show comprises a series of medium and large scale paintings in which he explored a new way of working: the big dimensions of the canvases forced him to develop short and gentle brushstrokes, as opposed to his traditional way of applying the brush on canvas from one end to the other in a single gesture. The result is “a contemplative, silent painting about a subjective memory which leads us to the infinite”, says curator Julia Lima.
