Sheela Gowda (Bhadravati, Karnataka, India, 1957; lives and works in Bangalore) is having her first solo show in Italy at Pirelli HangarBicocca.
In addition to a new production, the show features a wide selection of works she has made from 1996 to the present time, including watercolors, prints, and site-specific installations. In her practice, she uses a large variety of materials—such as hair, organic substances, cow dung, incense, and natural pigments—and the artworks are displayed in connection with the iconic architecture of the Navate at Pirelli HangarBicocca.
