Sophie Calle: Un Certain Regard

Fotomuseum Winterthur

08 Jun 201925 Aug 2019

Artist Sophie Calle‘s pieces combine photography and written words to explore the relationship between memory and visual representation. Five work series, mainly created over the last fifteen years, are on display in the monographic exhibition “Un certain regard” on view at the Fotomuseum Winterthur until August 2019. The shown pictures investigate the nature of absence, portraying situations in which images have been removed from sight. The exhibition project, the first monographic one dedicated do the artist in Switzerland, includes a second chapter, which will take place at Kunstmuseum Thun from September 7-December 1, 2019 under the title “Sophie Calle – Regard incertain”.
