Special Effects

Special Effects is a discussion about painting from the point or view leisure, non- human subjectivity, specific conditions, the grotesque and the ghostly that linger inside the work of the artists. Hence the variety of “styles” that integrate “Special Effects” does not seek uniformity or the pleasure of the homogeneous in a physical condition, but the roar of the ordinary undiscovered.

The dimensions, color palettes, materials, type of fabric, frames or not frames of the paintings are not here in service or uniformity and the discursive hegemony of a given theme, a problem that usually articulate exhibitions, but rather they seek to go to the interior; they are absorbed into the painting itself to address the evocation of each painting, and to the extent that we recognize ourselves in this evocation, our imagination and time can give the sense of a meeting point and the shrillness of this meeting.

The state of affairs that each painting evokes generates a physical and psychic awareness that rise questions: What impact does each painting has? What historical consciousness they generate? What relations they maintain with the history of painting? What does painting represents in Mexico?
